Teachers from across the state recently visited Hilltop Heritage Middle School for an AVID Demonstration School Revalidation event.

AVID - Advancement Via Individual Determination - is a college and career readiness program that provides students with the structure and support to accelerate learning. The process to become validated as an AVID Demonstration School is rigorous, and schools must revalidate every few years.

During the event, teachers and AVID representatives saw Hilltop's program in action by visiting several classrooms to observe AVID activities such as Socratic Seminar, World Cafe, tutorials and more. Students bravely demonstrated their academic skills and willingness to take risks as learners. The demonstration showcased how Hilltop Heritage incorporates the AVID framework into every class.
